JOINT MEETING WITH SOUTHERN NH CHAPTER OF APICS

LOCATION: Puritan CONFERENCE CENTER, 245 Hooksett Rd, Manchester, NH.

GUEST SPEAKER:  Anthony Zampello, Supply Chain/Operations Consultant and Educator with 35 years’ experience, an Adjunct Instructor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, an Adjunct Instructor at Fox Valley Technical College and an Adjunct Lecturer at Bentley University and currently the Secretary (Past President) of APICS NH Monadnock Chapter #256.

Mr. Zampello will be discussing the "Evolution of the Ever-changing Procurement Role". With newer, more sophisticated technology making for a shrinking world, what are the traits, attributes, skill-set and knowledge today and tomorrow’s Procurement/ Supply Chain professionals are required to know?

MENU:The dinner will be a buffet of:

  • Caesar Salad

  • Baked Chicken Tenders

  • Teriyaki Steak Tips

  • Vegetable Lasagna

  • Rice Pilaf

  • Steamed Broccoli

NAPM-NH Asked to Help State Procurement Study PDF Print E-mail

NAPM-NH has been asked by the state of New Hampshire to assist in a state procurement study. "It is exciting that the legislature recognizes our organization as a valuable and respected resource to Procurement and Supply Chain expertise," states NAPM-NH president Scott DeFreitas. We were joined at our meeting on September 16th by NH House Representative David Danielson who explained this study, and how NAPM-NH can provide significant value and insight to assist the State with this initiative. Scott DeFreitas revealed that this will "help solidify the value we as NAPM-NH provide not just for members, but to those within the business world – be it public, private or government."

The National Association of Purchasing Management – New Hampshire, Inc. is a non-profit association for purchasing and supply management professionals, and for students and others who are interested in this field. Our goal is to provide education and networking opportunities for our members, and to share the importance of purchasing and supply management with the business world. We have over one hundred members who live or work in New Hampshire and bordering states.

In the Members Only section, members have access to job postings, a member directory, links to other affiliates and associations, and a "Swap and Shop" forum to borrow or buy educational or related items or give a second life to items you no longer need.

January 2015 President's Message

HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL within the NAPM-NH organization; I hope you enjoyed a great and safe holiday season. With the New Year now well under way, what opportunities are you going to participate in to better yourself as a professional within Supply Management? Are you going to look into obtaining your professional certification or networking by participating in the various meetings held throughout the year by NAPM-NH?


By obtaining a professional certification you demonstrate to your current employer (or potential employer if you are job seeking) that you have and know how to apply the depth and breadth of knowledge within your respective field. It gives you a professional advantage over someone who doesn’t have a certification. In addition, Supply Management professionals with a certification tend to earn higher salaries than those who don’t have the credential.  On average those with a professional certification earn ~7-10% more in salary than those without.


Now how about that networking at a NAPM-NH event – they are offered throughout the year. Did you know most people who are out of work during a downturn and network typically recover more quickly than those who do not network? By attending NAPM-NH meetings you stay connected with fellow professionals, learn new or updated information, best practices and have a venue for bouncing ideas off other like-minded professionals.

Continuing Education Scholarship for Members PDF Print E-mail

The Continuing Education has been extended for the 2013-2014 year!

In support of NAPM-NH's goal of education for its members, we are pleased to announce the Continuing Education Scholarship!  This will help fund training or other educational opportunities that members want to pursue to increase their knowledge in the purchasing or supply management field, or in their specific job environment related to this field.

Examples of education that may be eligible for a scholarship include:

  • College courses or courses through other accedited organizations
  • Seminars
  • Webinars
  • ISM certification exams
  • Other professional development opportunities in purchasing, supply management, or general business topics

Members who wish to apply for this scholarship must have been a member of NAPM-NH for one year. It will cover up to $500 of expenses such as registration and certain required materials during the 2013-2014 academic year. Complete rules and details can be found in Guidelines in the menu to the left, along with the application form.

Applicants will be notified if they have been awarded a scholarship and the amount. Once approved, they proceed with the course, etc. and will be reimbursed upon proof of successful completion.
