About our program:

Our speaker, Jeanette Reed, will discuss Export Reform, including ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations). She will address the rapid changes made in the last 18 months, and the implications for market access (specific NATO member countries) and ITAR and EAR Compliance Requirements. Products relaxed under these controls include components for military Vehicles, Aircraft, Aircraft Engines, Vessels, Training Equipment and Military Electronics.

Also discussed will be specially designed definitions that have removed control of minor components that previously were regulated by ITAR. Ms. Reed will address geopolitical consequences of the actions by Russia in Crimea, and the Ukraine, and the need for due diligence and attention to the end user in an increasing complex environment of terrorist front companies and operators.

Ms. Reed is president of Evolutions in Business, a company she founded in 1989 to provide outsourced consultation and training to corporations. She has trained over 7200 different individuals on Export Compliance, ITAR and EAR, Export Documentation, Letters of Credit and NAFTA. Training and consultation has been provided to companies engaged in the international trade of highly technical commodities of manufacture, both commercial and military.

Ms. Reed has had strategic alliances with a number of different freight forwarders over the years and has engaged in public speaking events for Massport, New Hampshire International Trade Resource Center (ITRC), N.E. National Defense Industry Association (NDIA), The Oklahoma Aerospace Alliance and Small Business Development. She has received numerous commendations for her course work in this specialized field. Officers of the New England office of Export Enforcement and ICE have recognized Ms. Reed as a leader in export compliance training.

President's Message

NAPM-NH: October 2014 President's Message

Our September Professional Development and Networking Meeting was loosely in-line with previous meetings. We had 23 people total sign-up, 19 attended the tour and 18 attended the dinner and we thank you all. On avg. we have ~25 people sign-up and attend a PDNM. To increase member turn-out we welcome your feedback: What can we do better or differently to have your attendance at a meeting – can we change location, time, and topic/subject matter? Please let me or any NAPM-NH board member know. We serve on the board for you, our members; without you, our affiliate does not exist.

The October meeting is confirmed for Thursday, October 23rd, at Puritan Conference Center in Manchester, NH. More details to come in the forth-coming NAPM-NH BUYWORD.

Duty Drawback…..do you know what it is?

The United States government will give a refund to any company that imports goods into the country and then exports them back out, whether in whole or in part as a component within your product. This refund is called the “duty drawback.” It is not unusual to recover as much as 99% of your duties after you export your products. Is your logistics team aware of this government program? Would you like more information on this program? Let us know; perhaps we can accommodate your request for more info and greater education via a PDNM.

Thank you for your membership in ISM and NAPM-NH.

Scott DeFreitas

President, NAPM-NH

NAPM-NH Asked to Help State Procurement Study PDF Print E-mail

NAPM-NH has been asked by the state of New Hampshire to assist in a state procurement study. "It is exciting that the legislature recognizes our organization as a valuable and respected resource to Procurement and Supply Chain expertise," states NAPM-NH president Scott DeFreitas. We were joined at our meeting on September 16th by NH House Representative David Danielson who explained this study, and how NAPM-NH can provide significant value and insight to assist the State with this initiative. Scott DeFreitas revealed that this will "help solidify the value we as NAPM-NH provide not just for members, but to those within the business world – be it public, private or government."
