The National Association of Purchasing Management – New Hampshire, Inc. is a non-profit association for purchasing and supply management professionals, and for students and others who are interested in this field. Our goal is to provide education and networking opportunities for our members, and to share the importance of purchasing and supply management with the business world. We have over one hundred members who live or work in New Hampshire and bordering states.

Certified in Supply Management™ (CSM™) — ISM Heard You

Listening — really listening — is one of the most important skills we can master. Anyone who has been in the work force knows that active listening is critical to success. The same goes for us here at ISM. Since the inception of the Certified Professional in Supply Management^® (CPSM^®) program in 2008, we've heard from individuals and employers about the need for a supply management credential for those in the field who do not possess a bachelor's degree or international equivalent. We've heard from employers that want to provide equal opportunities to their entire supply management team to meet a common standard of measurement, regardless of their education. We've received feedback — a lot — from individuals around the world who have worked for many years in the field and want to show continued dedication to their careers and demonstrate mastery of ISM's established body of knowledge. We've listened and taken the feedback to heart.

ISM is pleased to announce that in November 2011, we will introduce a new designation, the Certified in Supply Management™ (CSM™). The ISM Professional Credentials Committee's recommendation for this new designation for individuals without a bachelor's degree was approved by the ISM Board of Directors at the August 2011 Board meeting.

The new CSM™ is built on the same supply management body of knowledge as the globally recognized CPSM^® program and is targeted toward those without a bachelor's degree. CSM™ candidates need to pass three CSM™ Exams. Those individuals with an associate's degree (or international equivalent) are also required to have three years of professional work experience; those with less than an associate's degree are required to have five years of professional work experience. Certified Purchasing Managers (C.P.M.s) in good standing may opt to take the single CSM™ Bridge Exam.

The CSM™ provides another option for those individuals who are committed to building their careers in the growing global supply management field.

To update your changes, simply click on the "Contact Us" button on the top menu, and fill out the form with your changes.

Don't know what information ISM has for you? Be sure you will receive your invoice to renew your dues this fall! Go to www.ism.ws (you can use the link in the Main Menu), log in, and go to "My Account" along the top. Choose "Member Information Update Form". Scroll down to see all the info. While there, you can also make any changes and submit them to ISM, but be sure to let NAPM-NH know too. Thank you!
