April/May 2015 President's Message

Greetings All,

Spring is upon us and it appears the weather is cooperating; hopefully no more fighting between Old Man Winter and Mother Nature which produced many snow events this past winter.

Thank you to all who attended the March 17th Professional Development & Networking Meeting (PDNM). We had a great turn-out and the discussion was rich and informative – we received several positive reviews. For those who couldn’t attend you should have received a copy of the slide-set presentation from Gail Blanco. If you haven’t or need it resent, please reach out to Gail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

I would like to recognize and say ‘thank you’ to William (Bill) Burie. Bill is a current board member who is relinquishing his Director seat after this present 2014/2015 year (ending April 30th); Bill was my predecessor as President of our organization for 4 years and prior to he served as a Director on the board for several years. Thank you, Bill, for your many years of service.

With regards to us as an organization, please be advised we are financially strong - we have a healthy treasury. It is unfortunate other complimentary, not competing – but complimentary, supply chain organizations within the state our closing chapters. We remain in a position to offer PDNM’s to better all of us in the organization specific to our supply chain and procurement profession. As always we openly welcome new members. Invite and bring a friend/colleague or two (or more) to a PDNM.

Lastly, we have money to give away. Yes that’s right we are giving away money to help those with continued education and/or certification. We have scholarship money to be awarded  that we would like to give away so please see our web-site and fill out a scholarship application. The NAPM-NH Continuing Education Scholarship offers financial assistance to current NAPM-NH members continuing their education and the Richard V. Bradshaw Memorial Scholarship is for the children and grandchildren of NAPM-NH members to help further their education. (NOTE: The scholarships are in process and will be announced soon.)

I hope to see you soon at a PDNM.

Scott DeFreitas, President NAPM-NH

NAPM-NH Asked to Help State Procurement Study PDF Print E-mail

NAPM-NH has been asked by the state of New Hampshire to assist in a state procurement study. "It is exciting that the legislature recognizes our organization as a valuable and respected resource to Procurement and Supply Chain expertise," states NAPM-NH president Scott DeFreitas. We were joined at our meeting on September 16th by NH House Representative David Danielson who explained this study, and how NAPM-NH can provide significant value and insight to assist the State with this initiative. Scott DeFreitas revealed that this will "help solidify the value we as NAPM-NH provide not just for members, but to those within the business world – be it public, private or government."
